What this site does and who we are
privatejetpriceperhour.com is a charter arrangement service. When you ask us for a private jet charter, we act as your agent: we gather your trip details, request pricing from operators, and present the options back to you so you can choose. We do not own or operate aircraft, and we do not hold operational control of any flight you book through us.
The flights themselves are flown by FAA Part 135 air carriers that do hold operational control. Those operators are responsible for the aircraft, the crew, maintenance, dispatch, and the safe conduct of the flight under their own certificate and their own procedures. When you accept a quote, the contract for carriage is between you and the operator.
How quotes work and when they are final
Every price you see from us is an estimate. The hourly ranges on this site, and the figures on route pages, are ballparks built from typical aircraft classes and typical stage lengths. A real quote depends on the specific tail number, its availability, crew duty limits, positioning, fuel at the time, and the airports you actually use.
A quote becomes binding only when the operator confirms it in writing and you accept it. Between the estimate and the confirmation, prices can move. We will tell you when a number is firm and when it is still an estimate, and we will not present a soft number as a hard one.
Payment and cancellation terms
Payment terms are set by the operator, not by us. Depending on the trip, that can mean a deposit at booking with the balance due before departure, or payment in full upfront. Wire and card are both common, and some operators pass along card processing costs. Read the operator's payment terms before you send money.
Cancellation and change policies also come from the operator, and they vary widely. Some trips are refundable minus a fee up to a set number of hours before departure; others are nonrefundable once confirmed. Weather, mechanical issues, and your own schedule changes can each be treated differently. Get the cancellation language in writing as part of the confirmation, and ask specifically what happens if the operator cancels or substitutes an aircraft.
What the quote does not cover
Charter flights in the US are subject to federal excise tax on the amount paid for transportation, plus segment fees. International legs can carry departure, arrival, and overflight charges from other countries. Where you board and deplane determines which airport fees and handling charges apply.
Some costs may not appear in the base quote: crew overnight expenses on multi-day trips, de-icing in winter, catering, ground transportation, and hangar or ramp fees at certain airports. In mountainous or hot climates, density altitude at departure can limit payload, which occasionally means a fuel stop or a different aircraft than you expected. We will flag these items up front when they are likely, but the operator's final invoice governs.
Operational control and the crew
The pilot in command has final authority over every flight, including whether to depart, what to carry, and how the trip is conducted. The operator assigns the crew, sets the schedule, and is responsible for compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations. If a flight is delayed or canceled for weather, maintenance, or crew duty reasons, those decisions sit with the operator.
We can help you understand an operator's certificate, insurance, and safety record, and we can push for a substitution or refund when something goes wrong. We cannot direct the flight, alter the crew's decisions, or assume the operator's obligations.
Limitation of liability
Because we act as your agent and not as the carrier, we are not liable for the operator's acts or omissions, including delays, cancellations, Diversions, injuries, or loss of property. Your remedies for those matters run against the operator under its contract of carriage and its insurance.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim arising from our arrangement services is limited to the fee we received for that arrangement. We make no warranty about the accuracy of any estimate beyond the effort we put into sourcing it. Nothing here limits rights you have under applicable law that cannot be waived.
